POLO G CALLS POLICE OFFICER "BROKE AS HELL" AND CLAIMS HE "BLACKED OUT" IN ARREST FOOTAGE FROM 2021

Polo G was detained in Miami after a release party for his Hall of Fame record in June 2021, which put him in an awkward predicament. The Chicago rapper was charged with many offenses, including violence on a police officer, but bodycam footage from the incident surfaced on Thursday (July 7) and revealed what happened. Polo was accused of assaulting a cop during a traffic check, leaving the officer with facial abrasions and a bruised right cheek after being attacked with repeated punches and elbow blows to the head. The bodycam film shows Polo using his words rather than his fists. Polo G seemed extremely upset in the back seat of the police car as he sought to attract the authorities' attention in the videos released online. When one of the cops ordered him to stop, the rapper called him "broke" and questioned his decision to join the police force.

“You broke as hell!” Polo yelled. “I’m just sayin’, do you got $10,000 in your bank account right now? ‘Cause if you die right now, what could you give your kids? If you die right now, what could you give the lady that you are in bed with? What could you give to your mama? Have you ever bought yo mama anything? Did you buy yo mama a car? Did you buy yo mama a house? I did that.” The officer replied, “Good for you, bro. I’m glad you did that… I would love to do that one day,” prompting Polo to clap back, “You would love to do it, but you never will.”

In another video showing him receiving medical care inside a police station, the 23-year-old musician continues to lash out against policemen, alleging he blacked out after being roughed up by them. The cops retaliated, labeling him a liar, claiming the rapper was kicking the cruiser's doors. Stacia Mac, Polo G's mother, and the manager said that police racially discriminated against her son at the time. Polo G's lawsuit was dismissed in April after he finished court-ordered anger management sessions. The "Rapstar" MC has moved on from the incident and can now concentrate on the release of his next collaborative effort with Southside and his Hall of Fame sequel. He's also hinted at collaborations with Hit-Boy and Playboi Carti recently.
