Prosecutors Claim A Nurse Tried To Smuggle Drugs Into Jail For Gunna

The incident reportedly took place back in May and when she was caught, she tried to flee the scene.

This week, Sergio "Gunna" Kitchens received some bad news. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville refused bail in the rapper's RICO case. Furthermore, various news sites are reporting that Gunna may be involved in another legal matter. Local officials allege that on May 14, a nurse attempted to sneak a package of marijuana and cocaine into the Fulton County jailhouse. A deputy apparently approached the nurse, causing her to drop the drugs contraband and flee the scene. According to the prosecution, the woman intended to give the drugs to Gunna. Gunna's attorney, Steve Sadow, denied the Hip Hop artist's allegations of narcotics smuggling. "None of the charges presented today, these so-called fresh allegations," the lawyer told WSBTV.

Gunna and twenty-seven other YSL Records associates have been charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Prosecutors have also accused YSL founder Jeffery "Young Thug" Williams of RICO. "As the District Attorney of Fulton County, my number one focus is targeting gangs, and there's a reason for that; they're committing roughly 75 percent to 80 percent of all of the violent crime that we're seeing in our community, and they have to be rooted out of our community," said Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis.Gunna and Young Thug have both denied being involved in a gang-related racketeering scheme. Both men pleaded not guilty to their criminal charges. Brian Steel, Thug's defense attorney, stated that he will battle "ethically, legally, and vigorously" to prove his client's innocence. Gunna made a statement regarding his RICO arrest on his social media platforms in June. "For the time being, I don't have my freedom," the 29-year-old "Pushin P" hitmaker added. But I am not guilty. I am wrongfully accused and will never give up the struggle to vindicate my identity."
