Drake and Keshia Chante were an adolescent couple that dated in Toronto in their early years. The ex-couple worked together musically and dated on and off.
Drake, on the other hand, just brought his first girlfriend, Keshia Chanté, on the stage at OVO Fest for the blockbuster performance.
Despite the fact that the highly anticipated Young Money reunion had to be postponed due to a case of COVID, Drake's annual OVO Fest has been a huge success, with the father of one expressing a lot of love to his fellow Canadians.
One of the most talked-about events of the first night was when Champagne Papi brought out Grammy Award winner Nelly Furtado to sing some of her biggest hits, including “Promiscuous” and “Turn Off The Light.” The two also performed her 2002 hit “I’m Like A Bird” together, which pleased both the crowd and the internet.
Drizzy didn't only have one female performer in store for fans. Drake also enlisted "Unpredictable" vocalist Keshia Chanté, with whom he has a romantic past. Drake made sweet and sympathetic things about his ex-girlfriend on stage.
“This next person coming to the stage, I used to get in my mom’s car and I used to drive all the way to the west for this one right here, you feel me? So I have to personally introduce her. This is my first girlfriend I ever had in my life.”
Chanté was long suspected of being the "KiKi" described by the Scorpion rapper in "In My Feelings." Chanté then gave a rousing performance of some of her biggest hits, which she chronicled with a photo dump on her Instagram page. In a post, the 34-year-old said :
"Legendary Nights in Toronto."
I’ve never seen the city come together like that! It was everything. A dream only @champagnepapi could make true. The most heartfelt & meaningful introduction I’ve ever had. Aubs I love you for life. And @djcharlieb I am so MFN proud of you. I’ve been watching you put in that work since 2004 and the All Canadian North Stars show was the perfect full circle moment.Performing songs I dropped in my teen years and hearing you sing all the words, made my soul so happy. Such a beautiful memory I will cherish forever. Toronto you have been riding for me since the very beginning and I am so grateful for the love.
