Pat Stay's Murder Was Targeted When He Was Stabbed To Death

Police have not stated whether or whether an arrest has been made, and they believe it is too early to ascertain the suspect's motivation. They do, however, feel this was not a random incident.  Halifax Regional Police Cst. John Macleod stated,
 Pat Stay, a famous battle rapper who just dissed West Coast chart-topper The Game in a diss track released only days before his death, was killed early Sunday morning on September 4 in Halifax, Nova Scotia while partying at the Yacht Club Social, Bar & Distillery.

According to CTV News, officers were asked to the pub at Sackville St. and Lower Water at about 12:30 a.m. as somebody alleged the stabbing.

Pat Stay, 36, was found and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Police have not stated whether or whether an arrest has been made, and they believe it is too early to ascertain the suspect's motivation. They do, however, feel this was not a random incident.

Halifax Regional Police Cst. John Macleod stated, “At this point, we are in the early stages. We are looking at all avenues to determine what occurred that night. We are asking anyone that might have information, or might have video, or photographs from the time of the incident to contact police to help us further this investigation,” MacLeod said.
