The Five Felony Charges Against Lil Durk From A Sh*oting Back In 2019 Have Officially Been Dropped - WhatsOnRap

Lil Durk Beats 2019 Felony Shooting Case

Lil Durk would not be facing any charges in connection with a 2019 shooting at Atlanta hotspot The Varsity.

The shooting took place on February 5, 2019 outside of The Varsity, a local restaurant. Durk was accused of felony attempted to commit murder, being engaged by or affiliated with a criminal street gang to conduct or participate in criminal gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm after shooting Alexander Witherspoon, 23. The charges are all felonies.

Fulton State's attorney Fani Willis decided not to pursue the suit, which delighted Durk's attorneys. "While it took three years for the state to make the right decision, in the end, the right decision was made, and Mr. Banks can finally put this event behind him," said attorney Manny Arora.

Durk has almost always claimed to be innocent of the crime and has never challenged authorities. "Look up at the judge, can't look, state makin' up lies for sure / I'm an innocent man for sure, it is what it is for sure," he stated on "Turn Myself In." This event also resulted in the arrest of murdered rapper King Von.
