L.A RAPPER HALF OUNCE SHOT AND KILLED IN KOREATOWN WHILE WALKING HOME - WhatsOnRap

Half Ounce, an Los Angeles rapper, was killed in a drive-by gunning down. According to Fox 11Los Angeles, the emerging Inglewood rapper was fatally shot on Monday, October 3 around 11:30 in 8th and New Hampshire.

According to authorities, Half Ounce was heading home with a buddy when a dark-colored SUV drew up and started a fire on both guys. The rapper's buddy is said to have fled the scene, and police are looking for him while they search for the gunman. It's unknown whether the rapper's pal retaliated.

The Los Angeles Police Department discovered Half Ounce in a planter, and his pregnant wife was on the phone with him when shots were fired.

The rapper is the third hip-hop singer to be killed by a gunshot in Los Angeles County in the last month. PnB Rock was down on September 12 while dining with his fiancée at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles. Another young rapper called Kee Riches was also reportedly shot and died in Compton at the end of September.

Although no suspects have been captured in the death of Kee Riches, authorities had a breakthrough in the death of Rock when they apprehended a 17-year-old suspect who they say fired the rounds that killed the Philadelphia rapper.

According to TMZ, the teenage son of Freddie Lee Trone, the male police suspect who drove the getaway car, was arrested and is expected to face first-degree murder charges. Authorities quickly caught Lee Trone as well as the boy's stepmother Shauntel Trone, who is accused of being an accomplice after the fact.

While the rap community lamented the premature death of Rock, Ice-T reiterated that Los Angeles gang culture is "not a game."

Half Ounce is survived by three children: a nine-month-old son, a two-year-old son, and an eight-year-old daughter.
