Joshua "Wash", Quavo's assistant, was among the two injured persons shot in the shooting that murdered Takeoff.
According to TMZ, the 23-year-old Migos assistant was hit by gunfire in the Houston, Texas shooting on Tuesday, Nov. 1. According to law enforcement officials, he was brought to the hospital in the seconds following the gunshot, but his injuries have been regarded as non-life threatening. Wash has been working with Quavo for several years, and it was discovered last year that he earned $5,000 from his labor.
An even more shooting victim, a 24-year-old woman, was brought to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators claimed Takeoff was shot in the torso and head during an altercation that erupted after what looked to be a dice game. It is uncertain where the nameless lady and Wash were shot.
While authorities first declined to identify the deceased slain in the incident, Takeoff's company, Quality Control Music, ultimately verified his death. "It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff to the rest of the world," the label stated. “Senseless violence and a stray bullet have taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.”
Tributes have flooded in in the days since Takeoff's passing. The Migos rapper was only 28 years old.
