Doja Cat has filed a lawsuit against someone who she claims threatened her in a chat room. Doja Cat submitted a police report after getting a death threat in a secret chat room, according to a TMZ article posted on Friday (Dec. 30).
A representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed that a police report for criminal threats was taken on Thursday (Dec. 29). The LACSD said that the inquiry is still ongoing and that it could not give any other information on the subject.
Doja was in a private conversation with several admirers when an unknown individual began being "weird," and she opted to boot the person out.
The fan, who lives outside of California, supposedly came to the room and threatened to kill Planet Her's creator. He allegedly stated that he would visit Doja Cat "soon" and murder her.
Doja Cat has a contentious history with chat rooms. In May 2020, the "Say So" rapper was accused of socializing with White Supremacists and using racist epithets in chat forums. Doja refuted the charges and apologized for any alleged discriminatory slur she made.
Doja wrote in an Instagram post: "I want to address what's been happening on Twitter. I've used public chat rooms to socialize since I was a child. I shouldn't have been on some of those chat room sites, but I personally have never been involved in any racist conversations. I'm sorry to anyone I offended."
