Rising rapper MoneySign Suede, from Los Angeles, was stabbed to death in a California jail, ending his life just as his career was taking off.
MoneySign's death is being investigated as a homicide by Correctional Training Facility officials in Soledad, CA, who discovered he was missing during a headcount check Tuesday at about 9:55 p.m.
The rapper was discovered unconscious in another part of the prison, according to our sources. He was pronounced dead at 10:00 p.m. after prison authorities attempted to offer emergency help.
Police have restricted prisoner movement until they undertake an investigation... with help from the Monterey County District Attorney's Office and the Monterey County Coroner, the latter of whom will establish MoneySign's reason for death.
MoneySign's lawyer, Nicholas Rosenberg, told the Los Angeles Times that the rap artist was stabbed in the neck in the shower and that people who knew him seemed speechless.
