21 Savage and SZA are prominently featured as leading contenders in the nominations for the upcoming iHeartRadio Awards, securing an impressive eight nods each and dominating the hip-hop and R&B categories.

Unveiled by iHeart Media on Thursday (January 18), the nominations introduced seven new categories, with Taylor Swift also receiving eight nods across various categories.

In the Collaboration Of The Year category, 21 Savage is represented by three of his 2023 hits – “Rich Flex” with Drake, Metro Boomin's “Creepin,” and “Good Good” featuring Usher & Summer Walker. These tracks will face competition from songs by Lil Durk, Nicki Minaj, and GloRilla, among others.

SZA, surpassing Beyoncé as the most nominated R&B artist, earned nods for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Music Video, among others. The TDE songstress also secured nominations in the newly introduced categories for Pop Song of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.

In the Hip Hop category, Doja Cat follows 21 Savage with six nominations, including three where she goes head-to-head with SZA. Beyoncé garnered four nominations and earned an indirect bonus nod, with her photographer Mason Pool nominated in the fan-voted Favorite Tour Photographer category.

Other notable Hip Hop and R&B artists in the running for a 2024 iHeartRadio Music Award include Chris Brown, Coco Jones, Fridayy, Gunna, Ice Spice, Lil Uzi Vert, Lola Brooke, Sexyy Red, Victoria Monét, and Young Nudy.

SZA leads all artists with nine nominations, securing nods in each of the three major categories: Album of the Year (SOS), Record of the Year (“Kill Bill”), and Song of the Year (“Kill Bill”).

In the rap division, the Best Rap Album category features a competitive lineup, with nominees including Drake and 21 Savage's Her Loss, Travis Scott's UTOPIA, Nas and Hit-Boy's King’s Disease 3, Metro Boomin's Heroes & Villains, and Killer Mike's Michael.
