After a much-anticipated comeback following a five-year break, the renowned hip-hop competition reality TV show, "Rhythm + Flow," is preparing for its second season, with Eminem slated to join the ensemble.

Previously crowning Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist D Smoke as its inaugural champion, the show left an indelible mark with guest judges like Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, and T.I. Now, the series is poised for a dynamic shift with new judges DJ Khaled, Ludacris, and Latto. Eminem, a luminary in the hip-hop realm, will take on a special guest judge role for the show's "Battle Round" competition.

Eminem's Journey from Battling for Cash to Judging Rap Battles

Netflix's Vice President of Nonfiction Series, Brandon Riegg, expressed enthusiasm about the revamped lineup, stating: "We are taking things up a notch with a new cast of global hitmakers in our judges and a new pool of undiscovered artists." He highlighted the evolving nature of hip-hop and anticipated the mentorship dynamics, with legendary figures like Eminem providing unique insights.

Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon, executive producers of the show, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of unconventional voices and authentic stories that delve into the layers of hip-hop culture. They shared their excitement about the powerhouse panel of judges and the platform's focus on spotlighting the continually evolving spirit of hip-hop.

The first season of "Rhythm + Flow," which aired in 2019, boasted notable guest stars like Miguel, Jhene Aiko, Snoop Dogg, and the late Nipsey Hussle. D Smoke, the season one winner, outshone competitors and secured a $250,000 prize. In 2021, D Smoke received two Grammy nominations, including one in the Best Rap Album category, further solidifying the show's impact on the music industry.
