Marlon Wayans Recalls Emotional Encounter with 2Pac 20 Minutes Before the Fatal Sh**ting
In a recent conversation with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Marlon Wayans recounted a poignant encounter with the legendary rapper 2Pac.
The meeting took place on the fateful night of September 7, 1996, just moments before 2Pac was tragically shot in Las Vegas.
Wayans, alongside fellow actor Omar Epps, found themselves in close proximity to 2Pac at The Luxor Hotel. The actor vividly described the tense atmosphere they encountered.
“I saw 2Pac in Vegas at The Luxor 20 minutes before he got shot, I seen Suge and all these cars and thugs and reds. I turned white. I was like, ‘M-m-m-maybe we shouldn’t go over there. Let’s just wave from here.’ Omar [Epps] was like, ‘Nah, we gotta go say what’s up and pay our respects.’ ‘Pac was a huge star at this time. And I was like, ‘Are you sure? It sure looks like a lot of trouble over there.'”
Marlon Wayans Reflects on Last Meeting with 2Pac Before Tragic Death:
Marlon Wayans says 2Pac was in chaos and recalls the look on 2Pac's face when he and Omar Epps saw him with Suge Knight in Las Vegas, 20 minutes before he was shot, saying 2Pac looked at them in a way that showed he missed the freedom and fun they had.

Despite the tense surroundings, Epps insisted they approach the scene to pay their respects to the influential rapper.
Wayans and Epps eventually approached 2Pac and engaged in a brief but meaningful conversation.
“I give him a hug, we all talk, kick it for five minutes, And the BMW pulls up. Me, Omar and Mitchell [Marchand] get in a cab and we pull off. I’ll never forget the look on 2Pac’s face as we pulled off. He was looking at us like, ‘Man, I miss that freedom, I miss that fun.’"
The gravity of the situation quickly set in. After parting ways with 2Pac, Wayans and Epps left the scene. Within 20 minutes, they received the devastating news of 2Pac's sh**ting.
"He was just in this chaos. There was a part of him that wished that — it was like the innocence. [He wished that] he could just go with the innocence. And so we left and then 20 minutes later, we heard he got shot.”
This emotional revelation provides a rare glimpse into the final moments before 2Pac's tragic death, capturing the profound impact of that night on those who were close to him.
