Tyrese Officially Retires from Social Media Following a Powerful Message on Masculinity

Tyrese Gibson Steps Away from Social Media, Talks Masculinity and Emotional Vulnerability

Tyrese Gibson, known for his powerful performances in film and music, has recently made headlines with his deeply emotional social media posts.

Following the release of his new film "1992" and his seventh studio album "Beautiful Pain", Gibson has been on an intense media tour, which included heartfelt interviews on "The Breakfast Club" and "Club Shay Shay".

The emotional weight of these appearances seems to have taken its toll, leading Gibson to announce his “retirement” from social media.

Taking to Instagram, Gibson shared a video montage from the "1992" premiere, where he was joined by his "Fast & Furious" co-stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.

Alongside the video, he posted a candid caption expressing his decision to step back from the digital world.

"I’m gonna pray I’m gonna turn my comments off because I don’t want to be reminded of this very nasty and unbearable narrative that REAL MEN don’t cry"

Tyrese Leaves Social Media, Shares Emotional Thoughts on Masculinity and Divorce:

Gibson went on to voice his frustrations about the current discourse surrounding masculinity.

He condemned the trend of labeling masculinity as “toxic,” arguing that it’s an unfair attempt to shame men for embodying traditional masculine traits.

At 45 years old, Gibson is determined to move forward without the baggage of past relationships.

He made it clear that he won’t be posting about his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a 6-year-old daughter, Soraya.

Gibson also has a 16-year-old daughter, Shayla, from a previous marriage. Additionally, he mentioned that he’s done trying to explain his relationship with his girlfriend, Zelie Timothy, to “childish and immature social media trolls.”

In a final note, Gibson emphasized that men have every right to express their emotions. “Men cry and have feelings TOO!” he wrote, a sentiment he has consistently shared in recent interviews.

During a particularly moving appearance on "The Breakfast Club", Gibson declined a tissue while tearfully discussing the losses he’s endured, including the passing of his mother in 2022.

“I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get, I don't need no tissue. Black men cry."

Gibson’s decision to step away from social media is a powerful statement about the pressures of public life and the importance of embracing vulnerability, particularly for men in the spotlight.
