Lil Wayne Name-Drops Eminem Twice on New Album 'Tha Carter VI'

Lil Wayne References Eminem Twice on His Highly Anticipated Album 'Tha Carter VI'

Lil Wayne Mentions Eminem Twice on Tha Carter VI Album Featuring Big Sean, 2 Chainz, MGK, and More

The wait is over, after years of anticipation, Lil Wayne has finally released his sixth studio installment in the iconic "Tha Carter" series.

Titled 'Tha Carter VI', the album arrives nearly seven years after Tha Carter V, marking a major moment in hip-hop this year. nlike his usual high-energy album rollouts, Weezy took a more low-key approach this time.

The only official single, “The Days,” debuted during an NBA Finals commercial just hours before the album’s release. Still, the project is making plenty of noise now that it's live on all streaming platforms.

"Tha Carter VI" features 19 songs and an impressive guest list that blends rap royalty with rising voices. Appearances include 2 Chainz, Kodak Black, Machine Gun Kelly, Big Sean, Jelly Rol, Jay Jones, BigXthaPlug, and Lil Novi.

Wayne even brings his son Kameron Carter into the mix, delivering a heartfelt moment for fans. Cross-genre surprises like Andrea Bocelli and Wyclef Jean show Tunechi’s signature creativity in pushing boundaries.

This release serves as Wayne’s first full solo studio album since 2023’s "Tha Fix Before Tha VI"—a mixtape that warmed up fans for what was coming. In between, Wayne joined forces with 2 Chainz for their collab album "Welcome 2 Collegrove", released in November 2023.

Among the most talked-about moments on the album are two distinct references to Eminem, proving that Wayne still holds the Detroit rapper in high lyrical regard.

On “Cotton Candy” (featuring 2 Chainz), Wayne raps:

“Nosedive, then swim, baby / More white, girl, than Slim Shady.”
And later, in the closing track “Written History,” he doubles down:
“They know I’m the greatest of all time, n-gga / I’m like what MJ is to LeBron, n-gga / Brady in his prime, n-gga / I’m like Tom Brady at forty-five, n-gga / I ain’t even debatin’ on retirin’, n-gga / You could get the Shady forty-five, n-gga.”
These bars have sparked immediate buzz across hip-hop forums and social media, with fans praising the nods to Eminem and the GOAT-level confidence.

With Tha Carter VI, Lil Wayne proves he’s not just still in the game—he’s still setting the bar.

The album blends raw lyricism, smart collaborations, and signature Wayne swagger that defines the Carter legacy. Whether you're here for the bars, the beats, or the guest features, this release has something for every hip-hop head.
