Fourth Suspect In Murder Of Memphis Rapper Young Dolph In Custody - WhatsOnRap

Memphis Police Department identified the suspect as Jermarcus Johnson. He is wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

The Memphis Police Department has a fourth suspect in custody in connection with Young Dolph's murder.

The MPD published the newest development in the Young Dolph murder case on their Facebook page this afternoon (November 18). Jermarcus Johnson was named as the newest suspect in the Dolph killing by the MPD. Only a few hours later, they announced that Johnson had handed himself into authorities. Johnson is accused of a first-degree murder conspiracy.

The arrest of Johnson comes just a week after the arrest of Hernandez Govan, 43. Govan has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for allegedly ordering Dolph's murder.

During a court hearing on Wednesday, he filed a not-guilty plea (Nov.17). Govan's next court appearance is scheduled on December 16.

The two suspected shooters, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, are in police custody. In January, the two were charged with murder. They have also pleaded not guilty. Another man, Shundale Barnett, is wanted on suspicion of accessory after the fact, criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder, and theft of property for his suspected participation in the crime.

Devin Burns and Joshua Taylor were both designated as people of interest in the case by the MPD in February. Seven persons have been charged in connection with Young Dolph's death, with four now in detention.

On November 17, 2021, two masked gunmen went up to Makeda's Homemade Cookies in Memphis and blasted the restaurant with gunshots while the rapper was buying. Dolph was shot 22 times, according to his autopsy report.
