Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti was arrested in Georgia over allegations of choking his pregnant girlfriend following an altercation about a paternity test.
According to TMZ, the woman told Fulton County police that Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, grabbed her throat and held her until she could hardly breathe on December 20.
According to police, the woman was 14 weeks pregnant at the time and thought she was going to die.
According to TMZ, the woman claimed the incident began when she tried to talk to Carter about the baby, which led to an argument about a paternity test, which escalated into the alleged physical assault.
The lady claims she was able to flee due to a witness, but she claims he tried to drag her out of a car and prevent her from using the vehicle's SOS button to report the incident to the police.
According to TMZ, police noted apparent injuries to the woman's neck, chest, and back in the incident report.
Carter faces felony aggravated assault charges.
Carter's attorney, Brian Steel, told TMZ that the rapper was "falsely charged."
