Lil Durk recently addressed Donald Trump's expressed worries about g*n vi*lence in Chicago, emphasizing that vi*lence is a prevalent issue nationwide. During an MSNBC interview with Ari Melber, the rapper responded to Trump's recent speech where the former president questioned the situation in Chicago, stating, "What's going on in Chicago? I said the other day: 'What the hell is going on?'" In his reply, Lil Durk downplayed Trump's concerns, noting that vi*lence is not exclusive to Chicago but exists in various cities. He commented, "I really don't pay it no mind, 'cause there's vi*lence everywhere."
Durk further elaborated, highlighting that every city experiences fluctuations in murder rates, and he expressed skepticism about Chicago currently having the highest murder rate. The rapper emphasized that he refrains from commenting extensively on the issue as it is a widespread challenge.

The interview also delved into Lil Durk's relationship with Drake, exploring the Toronto rapper's shoutout in Young Thug's song, "Oh U Went." Durk responded to the lyrical reference, jokingly expressing hope that it was based on a true story. The rapper added, "I'll feel more confident and more happy with myself." Additionally, during a rapid-fire round of questions about fellow hip-hop artists, Durk associated an "owl" with Drake.
