21 Savage’s Management Addresses Rumors of Kendrick Lamar Diss in New Drake Song 'It’s Up'

21 Savage’s Manager Clears the Air on Kendrick Lamar Diss Rumors in Drake Collab

21 Savage's Manager Refutes Kendrick Lamar's Diss Claims on Drake’s "It’s Up"

21 Savage has skillfully avoided entanglement in the ongoing Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar feud.

Despite his connections with both Drizzy and Metro Boomin, the Atlanta rapper has managed to stay neutral.

However, recent events have sparked rumors suggesting 21 Savage might have aimed a diss at Kendrick Lamar in Drake's newly released track, “It’s Up.”

On August 6, Drake dropped a massive 100 GB of unreleased material, including the track “It’s Up,” which features 21 Savage.

Some fans speculated that 21’s lyrics were directed at Kendrick Lamar. This speculation stemmed from lines that seemed to reference Lamar, particularly a rapper likened to Tupac and another feeling elevated by recent hits.

DJ Akademiks, known for his coverage of hip-hop drama, reported on these rumors.

He highlighted how fans perceived 21 Savage’s lyrics as a jab at Kendrick Lamar. Akademiks then reached out to 21 Savage’s manager, Justin “Meezy” Williams, who promptly dismissed the claims.

“21 is not dissing Kendrick.”

Meezy assured, clarifying that the bars in question were aimed at a different target.

No Kendrick Lamar Diss: 21 Savage’s Manager Responds to “It’s Up” Controversy:

The specific lyrics under scrutiny include lines like:

"No rap cap come out my mouth. Made a couple songs, think he hot now, Hit his a*s up, he think he Pac now. Broad day, like he got shot down."

These lines sparked speculation due to their perceived similarity to criticisms often aimed at Lamar.

Despite the rumors, DJ Akademiks emphasized that the diss allegations didn't hold water, noting that Kendrick Lamar’s success with multiple number-one singles made the alleged diss implausible.

21 Savage has a history of working with Kendrick Lamar, making it unlikely that he would aim a diss at him. Moreover, the rapper’s loyalty to Drake is well-documented, and any perceived beef with Lamar seems unfounded.

While 21 Savage’s latest collaboration with Drake has generated buzz, his manager’s clarification dispels any notion of a Kendrick Lamar diss, reaffirming that the Atlanta rapper remains neutral amidst the feud between two of rap’s biggest stars.
