Big Sean Credits Eminem for Teaching Dedication, Compares Him to Goku

Big Sean has long considered Eminem a major influence in his life and career.

In a recent interview with Zach Sang, Sean opened up about the invaluable lessons he learned from working with the legendary rapper during the early stages of their collaboration.

One of the most important takeaways for Sean was understanding the level of dedication Eminem pours into his craft.

“Man, of what dedication is. Eminem is the biggest rapper in the world and he be in the studio every day”

Sean shared:

“Every day he can be in there. He’s dedicated to it. He care about rapping like Goku care about fighting. Eminem is in that mug, in that studio, every day, dawg. We were eating Jet’s pizza in the studio watching South Park. It was the first time we worked.”

Big Sean Praises Eminem’s Dedication, Compares Him to ‘Dragon Ball Z’ Hero Goku:

Sean fondly recalled their first session together, where they spent hours in the studio, sharing pizza and watching "South Park".

That day left a lasting impression on him, showing him that even at the top, Eminem never stops pushing himself to be better.

During the interview, Sean also revealed a memorable moment that made him rethink his perspective on being a fan.

He admitted that he had considered bringing his old Eminem CDs to get signed but decided not to because he thought it might come off as "uncool."

To his surprise, at the end of their session, Eminem did something unexpected. Sean said with a smile:

“At the end of the session, he breaks out my CD and he’s like, 'Yo, can you sign ‘em?’ That was a lesson then. I’m like, ‘Bro, never be too cool to be a fan of who you a fan of.’ … I couldn’t fucking believe it, I was like, ‘Wow.’"

Over the years, the two Detroit-born artists have teamed up on several tracks, their first being 2014’s “Detroit vs. Everybody.”

Since then, they’ve continued to work together, maintaining a mutual respect for each other’s artistry.

For Sean, Eminem’s relentless work ethic and humility are qualities that continue to influence him both as a rapper and as a person, driving him to stay dedicated to his craft and always stay true to his roots.
