21 Savage Requires That Atlanta Stop Gun Violence, Claims That Songs Aren't Life Instructions

21 Savage tried to protect his lyrics after urging an end to gun violence in Atlanta. The rapper, who grew up in Atlanta, tweeted yesterday (August 8): "Atlanta, We Have To Do Better." Put the f****** guns down!"

While many Twitter users backed him up, one fan pointed out Savage's own songs about gun violence, recalling the rapper's phrase "spin a block twice like it ain't nowhere to park" from his recent Drake duet 'Jimmy Crooks.'

"A song is for entertainment, not an instruction manual on how to live life," Savage responded to a fan. In real life, I give away a lot of money and spread financial literacy to my community. Stop trying to make me 1 dimensional.”  Savage made the statement after hosting the seventh annual "Issa Back 2 School Drive" in his hometown of Decatur, Georgia.

The rapper, in collaboration with his Leading By Example Foundation, gave over 2000 young kids and families school supplies and services such as bags, shoes, haircuts, hair braiding, notebooks, headphones, uniforms, and shoes ahead of the next 2022-23 school year.
