Eminem & Snoop Dogg Coming Back To MTV VMAs For ‘Metaverse-Inspired’ Performance.

For Sunday's 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, Eminem and Snoop Dogg are returning to the VMAs stage for a "first of its kind" performance of "From the D 2 The LBC," inspired by "the universe of the Otherside metaverse."

Their collaboration with Yuga Labs marks either rapper's first VMA performance in more than a decade. Snoop's last VMAs performance was in 2005, when he performed alongside Diddy in a tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. In 2010, Eminem began the program with "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie," supported by Rihanna

The pair performed on the VMAs stage with Dr. Dre in 1999, as the show concluded with Eminem's "My Name Is" and "Guilty Conscience" and Dre's "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang."

Eminem and Snoop's first collab across over 20 years, "From the D 2 the LBC," will be their third public appearance together in 2022. They performed with Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar during this year's Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, and they debuted their new collaboration live in June at ApeFest, a New York concert for Bored Ape NFT holders.

For "From The D 2 The LBC," Eminem and Snoop are nominated for best hip-hop. With 60 nominations, Eminem is the second most nominated artist in VMA history, following only Madonna (69). He has 13 victories, making him one of the top five most successful performers. Snoop has been nominated for 13 awards and has won three of them, including his first nomination for best rap video (1994) for "Doggy Dogg World." The 2022 VMAs will be broadcast live from the Prudential Center on August 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
