THE GAME FORCED TO REMOVE NBA YOUNGBOY FROM “DRILLMATIC” TRACK OVER $150K FEATURE FEE

The Game's massive 10th studio album Drillmatic: Heart vs Mind was released last Thursday, and audiences were much more excited to see NBA Youngboy as a surprise guest on the single "O.P.P." However, shortly after the project's release, fans realized that "O.P.P," as well as Youngboy's verse, had been deleted from the album. According to Game's manager, Wack 100, the 22-year-old Baton Rouge rapper was dropped from the project due to his high $150K cost.

Wack said during a Clubhouse talk with Ma$e, "Sometimes when it comes down to a situation that I had to make an executive decision about. In YoungBoy's defense, YoungBoy charges n*****s 300,000 a verse. That's what he charges. He gave us a hell of a deal [150K]. But that situation would have cut into marketing overall. So I had to make the executive decision to pay the tab he sent me, which was a respectable, great tab. It was love. But that tab would have cut into that, that and that ... nothing against YoungBoy, he didn't disrespect us."

Wack also said that several budget cutbacks had to be made during the Drillmatic's production when 10 tracks and 6 samples were added, which cost the team a lot of money to clear.

"O.P.P." isn't the only track that didn't make the final cut of the album. Nipsey Hussle's posthumous verse on The Game's track "World Tours" was removed from the release by his estate, who claimed that the late rapper's vocals were not agreed upon. Before the poem was eventually removed from the project, Nipsey's crew hired a lawyer and gave Wack 100 a cease-and-desist letter.

Despite the hype surrounding Drillmatic's release, The Game remains enthusiastic about his most recent body of work. "DRILLMATIC the REAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR. I promise I’m going 30 for 30, no skips. As Hit-Boy would say, ‘Issa 30 clip’!!!
