Kamaiyah was arrested recently after being found with a loaded rifle at an airport.
According to TMZ, the Oakland native (real name Kamaiyah Johnson) was arrested on August 31 at Hollywood Burbank Airport after TSA agents found a loaded.380 semi-automatic pistol inside her purse.
According to XXL, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m., while the 30-year-old rapper was trying to take a flight back to her hometown.
Agents also revealed a long-standing arrest warrant for Kamaiyah stemming from a 2019 incident in which she reportedly fired a weapon inside a movie screening room of a San Fernando Valley apartment complex.
According to reports, A Good Night in the Ghetto MC was charged with felony firearm possession and placed into Burbank Jail. After paying a $70,000 bail, she was freed from police custody.
On Wednesday (September 8), Kamaiyah addressed the incident on Instagram, claiming she mistakenly left the pistol in her suitcase and denying there was a warrant out for her arrest. She also wrote:
“I don’t have a warrant for my arrest. Last week I was on my way to get my hair done and accidentally left my gun in my purse at the airport, I’m laughing in my mugshot because I told the guard you gone have me on the blogs looking like a hedgehog and look at me a week later on the blogs looking like a damn hedgehog. [crying face emojis].”
She noted in the description: “I tried to not say nothin' so it wouldn’t get out but clearly that didn’t work[.] playas fuck up Mayne mind y’all damn business.”
