TSU SURF ARRESTED ON RICO CHARGES FOLLOWING RAID ON NEW JERSEY HOME

Tsu Surf, a Famous rapper from New Jersey, has been charged on a federal RICO charge. The battle rapper was detained by the US Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 13), according to Fox 5 New York reporter Lisa Evers. He was caught for a RICO charge in conjunction with a DEA case, according to reports.

According to WhatsOnRap sources, Tsu Surf is presently being held at the Essex County Jail in Newark, New Jersey, where he was brought following his arrest.

Tsu Surf, was apparently caught at a house in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he was found with a lady. According to sources, the rhymer attempted to flee through the rear door of the residence, which was encircled by local enforcement. When he saw federal agents approaching, he went back inside and locked himself. Tsu and the lady refused to come outside for an hour until crisis negotiators arrived. The negotiators conferred with Tsu, who finally surrendered calmly.

On Friday, he is set to appear before a federal judge in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey. On October 3, Tsu's manager, Qua Bellamy, sent a statement to Lisa Evers concerning the legal issues that the artist was facing.

"Qua says that Tsu Surf is definitely not on the run. He says he is in good spirits and preparing to deal with a federal law enforcement matter," Evers shared in a video on her Twitter page. "He says he's also making plans to take care of his family and the business associates who depend on him. Qua also says that Tsu does not know the severity of the situation yet, but is preparing for the worst and praying for the best."

Qua tweeted, "Yeah y’all can officially go ahead and put that 'free' in front of his name."

There were whispers on social media last week about Tsu Surf's possible arrest, which did not occur at the time. Tsu reportedly said on Oct. 6 on a Twitter account he previously promoted on his own Instagram profile, "I prolly never foot on a stage again.... God has a way of Humbling Us."

RICO arrests have lately impacted hip-hop hard. In May, Young Thug and Gunna were arrested among 26 other YSL members in Atlanta on allegations of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, murder, armed robbery, and involvement in criminal street gang activities.
