During the weekend's Art Basel events in Miami, Cardi B was collecting coins. Cardi B took to Twitter on Saturday (Dec. 3) to declare that she got paid $1 million for a 35-minute performance. And she has documentation to prove it.
The Bronx rapper revealed paperwork from WP Touring, Inc. in a since-deleted tweet that stated Cardi got paid $1 million for a performance.
"I got paid 1 million dollars to perform at this elite bankers event for 400 people in only 35 minutes...... THINK ABOUT THAT WHEN YOU TYPE ABOUT THIS GRAMMY WINNER," She included a gold cup emoji to her remark.
Cardi B may be reacting to critics who have questioned why she hasn't released a new album or gone on tour. Some speculated that the Grammy Award-winning rapper was hesitant to release a new record because she was concerned about her first-week sales figures. But Cardi promptly debunked the allegations.
"I’m never afraid of numbers honey," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. "And I don’t gotta put an another album if I want to I EATS GOOD OF MY diamond records alone [wink emoji]. Don’t drag other bitches to make your point drag the man that’s running their mouth… Grown man!"
Cardi then retweeted a post from Touring Data, which said that her 2019 arena tour was the first concert tour where a female rapper in history to average over $1 million gross per show. "Mind you it was only 7 shows …..Let’s not talk about numbers," she commented.
