This year’s 17-minute lyrical recap takes aim at a long list of rap stars, with Murda directing diss bars toward some of the biggest names in the game, including Drake, J. Cole, Diddy, Rick Ross, Joe Budden, and even Megan Thee Stallion.
The track covers a lot of ground, touching on major events from the past year in hip-hop.
Uncle Murda Delivers Scathing Diss to Drake, J. Cole, And Others in "Rap Up 2024":
Diddy and His Legal Troubles
Murda opens his 2024 "Rap Up" with a controversial topic: Diddy’s ongoing legal battles.
He addresses the federal s*x tr*fficking case and se*ual assault lawsuits surrounding the music mogul, as well as accusations from 2016.
“Diddy do it? That n-gga did it, Diddy, you foul / Don’t play with the feds, cop out, don’t go to trial / For 20-something years, you hid that shit / Whatever they saying you did, you did that shit.”
Murda raps, referencing the legal troubles that have rocked Diddy’s empire.
Murda doesn’t hold back, going further into the scandal by mentioning the involvement of Biggie’s mother and the accusations against Diddy.
“Even Biggie’s mother upset, but you got n-ggas accusing you of rape like, ‘Is he bise*ual?’ / The feds took a thousand bottles of baby oil from you / You wasn’t just drugging b*tches, you drugged n-ggas too / They took back the keys they gave Puff to the city / Even Meek Mill out here saying, ‘No Diddy.’“
Shots at JAY-Z and the 2000 Lawsuit
The G-Unit rapper also takes aim at Jay-Z, referencing a past lawsuit where Jay-Z was accused of r*ping a 13-year-old girl.
Murda jokes that Jay will never pick up the phone for Diddy again and mocks the controversy by saying:
“JAY-Z’ll never pick up the phone for Puff again / They tried to say him and Jay r*ped a 13-year-old / We don’t believe that, leave Beyoncé‘s man alone / Jay ain’t waste no time to respond, had flashbacks to that elevator shit with Solange.”
Drake and His Lawsuit Drama
Drake is another target on Murda’s "Rap Up 2024." The Brooklyn rapper calls out Drake for suing his label, even likening it to "white boy shit" in reference to Kendrick Lamar’s famous line.
Murda suggests that the move makes Drake look weak, and even criticizes Drake’s relationship with other artists, stating/
“[Kendrick] really got Drake out here suing his record label / You looking corny for doing that, Drake, stop / That’s worse than J. Cole apologizing to K. Dot / You filing a lawsuit, f*ck is that all about? / That’s that white boy shit in you that Kendrick was talking ’bout / Shit crazy, you know I made y’all laugh a lot / The new Big Three is Kendrick, Future and Travis Scott.”
J. Cole's Disappointing Move
J. Cole also comes under fire for his apology to Kendrick Lamar, with Murda accusing him of backing down from a lyrical battle.
He says, “You went out like a sucker, J. Cole,” calling out the rapper for being less than the “best rapper” he claims to be.
"Don’t write no more raps talking about how you got the crown / Claim to be the best rapper every time you spit a verse / How you apologize to a n-gga that dissed you first? / You went out like a sucker, J. Cole, just being honest / If a n-gga tell you something different they just being modest.”
Rick Ross and His Disastrous Year
Uncle Murda doesn’t leave Rick Ross out, referencing a public incident where Ross was punched in the face by a "white boy" in Canada.
Murda mocks Ross’s “boss” persona, saying, “Bosses don’t move like that, that’s lame shit.” The rapper also calls out Ross’s behavior in the wake of the attack, suggesting that Ross abandoned his crew when they needed him.
“Shit was in 4K, you see it very clear / His mans got knocked out, Ross ran and left him there / Bosses don’t move like that, that’s lame shit / Ross really ran and left all the n-ggas he came with.”
Joe Budden's Naked Scandal
One of the most bizarre disses comes when Murda talks about Joe Budden’s infamous “naked” incident.
The rapper references a viral video of Budden being filmed by a neighbor while “naked” and “playing with his neighbor’s dog.”
“Joe Buddens got locked up for being in the building naked / It was on the Ring camera, one of his neighbors taped it / That’s crazy, all the shit he be talkin’ / He was on some kind of drug, he wasn’t sleepwalking / That’s embarrassing, I know he feelin’ crazy / That’s why he ain’t been recording no new episodes lately.
Murda doesn’t hold back, calling it embarrassing and even saying:
“The building he was filming in wanted him to get out / On the last day of the year, we find this shit out / This n-gga naked playing with his neighbor’s dog / That’s some weird shit, that’s what the Ring camera saw.”
Megan Thee Stallion's Alleged Lies
Megan Thee Stallion isn’t spared either. Murda calls her out for allegedly lying to Gayle King about the Tory Lanez shooting incident.
“Meg Thee Stallion lied to Gayle King about f*cking Tory / Wonder what else she lied about, that whole f*cking story / She out here admitting to being a wh*re / Meanwhile Nicki just made a hundred or something million on tour / You know, Megan and Nicki don’t get along / They used to be cool, remember that ‘Hot Girl Summer’ song?"
He also references Megan’s past relationship with Nicki Minaj and how their friendship soured, joking about her being a “stripper” who switches sides.
“I swear I thought Meg was a Barbie / Then she switched sides and went and did a record with Cardi / You know Megan be getting drunk doing stupid shit / Nicki was like, ‘You gotta pick a side, you goofy b*tch’ / Meg just be twerking like a stripper that get money / Nicki was calling her Big Foot, I thought that shit was funny.”
Ice Spice's Body Transformation
Ice Spice also finds herself in Murda’s sights. He takes a jab at her changing body shape, comparing her to Coi Leray and calling attention to her weight loss.
The rapper even goes as far as to say that other female rappers, like GloRilla, now have a bigger “b*tt” than her.
“Ice Spice ain’t got no more figure, I thought she was Coi Leray when I saw her in the picture / You know she likes to turn around and shake it when she performs / How she gonna do that shit now when her a*s is gone? / That Ozempic made her lose weight like, ‘Wow’ / GloRilla got a bigger butt than her right now.”
As Murda wraps up the track, he doesn’t hold back with his criticisms of several other figures, making sure to touch on every major scandal and controversy that has hit the hip-hop world in 2024.
