Young Thug Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Diss

With his upcoming album "UY Scuti" and its fiery lead single “Money on Money” making waves, Young Thug is finally addressing the buzz around Kendrick Lamars headline-making diss track “Not Like Us.”

In an exclusive interview with GQ’s Zach Baron, the Atlanta rapper gave a calm but telling response to being name-dropped in the midst of the Kendrick vs. Drake beef.

While Thugger has been fighting legal battles tied to the YSL RICO case, the hip-hop world has kept spinning—dominated by the lyrical war between two of the genre’s biggest names: Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

Fans were quick to spot Thug’s name in the third verse of Kendrick’s brutal takedown, which called out several Atlanta rappers with ties to Drake.

When asked how he felt about his city being pulled into the conflict, Young Thug offered a composed reply.

“Yeah, [Kendrick] just spoke on people's names in Atlanta, I don't know what that was about. I'm a Drake fan.”

It was a subtle, yet powerful statement from someone who’s worked closely with Drake over the years.

The pair have collaborated multiple times, with their creative chemistry earning both critical and commercial success in the rap scene.

In the diss track, Kendrick takes aim at the Toronto superstar, accusing him of using Atlanta’s biggest rap names to elevate his street credibility and cultural clout.

Lamar name-drops Future, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Quavo, 2 Chainz, and of course, Young Thug himself—rapping:

“Thug made you feel like you a slime in your head…”

It’s a lyrical grenade aimed straight at the heart of Drake’s Southern rap affiliations.

Though Thug didn’t bite back at Kendrick directly, his loyalty to Drake came through loud and clear.

It's also worth noting that Thug previously called for peace between Drake, Future, and Metro Boomin, showing he's more interested in unity than beef.

With "UY Scuti" on the horizon, it looks like Young Thug is focused on the music, not the drama.
