Nick Cannon Speaks On Nicki Minaj's Husband Kenneth Petty

Nick Cannon Criticizes Kenneth Petty's Conduct, Raises Image Concerns.

Nick Cannon didn't mince words when discussing Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth "Zoo" Petty, on a recent episode of his streaming talk show, The Daily Cannon. Joined by co-hosts Courtney Bee and Mason Moussette, the conversation revolved around Petty's behavior, particularly in the aftermath of an incident following the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. During this event, Petty and his associates purportedly issued threats against Cardi B's husband, Offset, via Instagram Live.

Cannon expressed a belief that Petty's actions are damaging Minaj's reputation. He emphasized the importance of maintaining authenticity, cautioning against unnecessary online confrontations.

.“I believe what Courtney is saying is that he is tarnishing the brand,” says Cannon. “You’re standing on the corner of the block outside of the VMAs… If you a street dude, be a street dude. Don’t be on the internet. Street dudes didn’t even get on the phone. Like, real gangstas move in silence. He got a bunch of other cats around him, ‘Yeah, we outside.’ We know, n***a! I’m all for keeping it street, but keep it street smart.”

The conversation touched on the legal consequences faced by Petty, who was ordered to serve up to 120 days on home arrest. This followed a prior sentence of one year of home confinement and three years of probation for failing to register as a s*x offender. Bee chimed in, highlighting the responsibilities that come with marriage, especially in challenging situations.

The critique of Petty's behavior extended beyond Cannon and his co-hosts, with Charlamagne Tha God from The Breakfast Club also offering his disapproval. Charlamagne stressed that adopting a "street" persona isn't a legitimate occupation and advised against clinging to such an identity. He questioned the happiness derived from projecting such behavior, suggesting it may stem from personal dissatisfaction.
